Seeking full-time CNC Machine Operator to join our production team in Toronto, for a long term opportunity. This position requires a self-motivated and reliable individual with the ability to quickly take control of the responsibilities.
The successful candidate will produce machined parts by setting up and operating a CNC machine.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Interpret work order specifications and CAD drawings
- Designing parts to be machined in CNC
- Check parts to the drawings and edit CNC machine program
- Set up precision measuring, tools, and adjust programming controls accordingly
- Load feed mechanism by lifting laminate stock into position
- Run machine and supervise operation
- Inspect dimensions to ensure part is machined within tolerances
- Maintain equipment by performing routine quality control checks
- Sharpen and replace worn tools
- Follow manufacturing instructions to detect and troubleshoot malfunctions
- Coordinate with in-house team on scheduling and project deadlines
- Other duties as required
Skills and Abilities
- 1-5 years of experience in CNC Mill machining, part designing, operating, and programming
- Previous experience in cabinetry and mill work manufacturing.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret diagrams, schematics, drawings and specifications
- Follow verbal and written instructions of numerical dimensions and tolerances
- Familiarity with automated machinery, with the ability to understand software
- Experience with AutoCAD and other CAD/CAM software
- Must be hardworking and have a strong willingness to learn
- Excellent time management skills, with high attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently both within a team and independently
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written in English)
